In Gujarat, a witness in 2002 Gulbarga riot case has told a fast track court that former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri, who was killed in the riots, had been abused by Chief Minister Narendra Modi when had called him for help. Sixty-nine people including Jafri had been killed in the worst-ever riot cases at Gulbarga society. The case is being heard by a fast track court. About 100 accused have been arrested in the case. The witness Imtiyaz Pathan, a resident of Gulbarga society, had lost six of his family members including his mother. During his three-day deposition, he identified 20 of the accused. He also told the court that no police help was available despite Jafri and others making repeated calls to top police officials. "I was with Ehsan Jafri at his home. He called Narendra Modi for help but instead of help he was abused by Modi, this much I remember," he said.
